Contoh Materi Speak Contest tentang Disaster Management in School

My name is Romadona Nur Wahyudi.

I am from Youth Red Cross of Vocational High School 2 Klaten.

Assalamuálaikum wr. wb.

            Honorable, ladies and gentleman.

            Honorable, the juries of the competition.

            Honorable, all of audience.

            All praises to Allah, when give us opportunity, so, we can meet in this competition at Henry Dunant Competition 2017 present by Politechnic University of Semarang and Indonesian Red Cross.

            I would like say thank you to the juries, who giving us trying to speech english in front of all. I am very please, in this moment, I would like to speech about “Disaster Management In School”. Because without management, disaster can become end of the world, end of a life !

            Why its need to be studying? We know, disaster ... Disaster is a serious disruption of the functioning of a comunity or society to cope using exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources. Remember ! Until 2014, there are 1.525 disater, and make 566 people die, 2,66 million people suffer, and 51.000 house is broken. Wow ! Fantastic right ?

            So, what we can do to minimization the impact of the disaster, especially in our school? Come on, lets begin studying. First, identification what a disaster maybe happen in our school area. There are 2 kind of disaster, natural disaster and humanity disaster. For example, in my school, my school is near with Merapi Mountain, and located at the area were sunken. So, maybe it can happen the eruption of Merapi and earthquake, and then when rainy season, maybe it can hapen flood. There are the natural disaster, how about humanity disaster? In my school, there is from the trash. The trash is from the plastic of food and drink’s all people in school, and then leaves from the trees. So, the trash can make disaster if not can handle.

           

Second, after we know what a disaster maybe happen in our school area, let’s doing mitigation and preparedness. Yes, mitigation and preparedness ... mitigation is our effort to minimization the impact of disaster. The, preparedness is our effort to respon the disaster. For example, we can make evacuation way, fall in line point, we can increase our first aid ability and supply the evacuation place. That are the eruption and earthquake mitigation.

How about the flood mitigation? Ah.. we can make some biophory. Anyone here know about biophory? Biophory is absorption holes made on purpose with particular size 10 until 30 cm in diameter with length 30 until 100 cm that serves as a water absorbent to the ground so can maximizing the water soak into the soil and minimizaton the water puddle.

Then about the trash. School can supply the basket trash. And we can classification the organic and an organic trash. We can action 3R, reduce, reuse, and recycle. And then, how about the organic trash? ah except biophory can minimization the water puddle, it can make natural compost. Wow, Its so useful right?

Then, third, we can socialization about the action when disaster come, for example using wall magazine. Wall magazine can explain all people in school, all of student, all of teacher, can read what we must do when the disaster come. For example when earthquake come, we must protect our head, hide under the table, and others.

Ladies and gentleman. Its very important, very important to know, don’t until, when disaster come, just we make a little mistake, we don’t know what we must do, just run, run, and run. Our life, and other people life will stakes.

All of school family must know, we must studying about disaster. With socialization, using wall magazine, and other activity for example like I do in here, we can reminder other people. And its very importnt, after disaster come, we must help other people, with our strenght, with our soul.

That I hope, what I say is usefull for all in here, and and disaster can minimization, then we can get the life peace.
